The Beanimals –
Goats
Jeff – Mini-Myatonic (fainting goat) – mostly black with white ring. Has a chewing fetish especially hair. So very, very sweet to all guests. He's the hero of the herd. He is the oldest goat out here so is treated with love and gets treats before anyone else.
Johnny - Little brown pygmy - a sweetheart of a little guy. When the larger goats pick on him, he's the first to turn the other cheek. Maybe a bit of an underdog. Or undergoat.
Harold - white pygmy with a hard candy shell on the outside but sweet on the inside.
Ricky Bobby - a quick moving multi-color pygmy with an identity crisis.
Lacey - White Pygmy with light brown spectacles - she's a bit of a loner and likes it that way. She doesn't mind it if we touch her but she'd rather be left alone to graze.
Pig-
Beatrice – black pot belly pig – another grumpy pot belly pig. Prefers that you provide her with lettuce and tomatoes. She’s quick on her feet. She doesn’t like hugs AT ALL but a scratch to her back or behind the ears doesn’t bother her too much.
Equines -
Rebel – Mini-donkey – cries for attention & is loyal to his owners. Loves to have his shoulders and rump scratched. He kicks off chore time with a series of hee-haws to get our attention. He is often a favorite around here.
Ginny – Grey Mini-donkey – she’s a sweetie. Comical, loving and still learning that humans are not edible. Any attention that is given to Rebel she expects to have an equal share in. She has a part in our Live Nativity!
Chickens –
Connie(s) – due to a lack of creativity and an ever-rotating stock, all of the white hens are named Connie. They sleep with the goats and donkeys at night and free-range during the day. One of them likes to be held but we can't remember which one. All of them love dehydrated worms which are available on site (unless we run out of them).
We have three red hens right now. We call them all Rosey.
Cats-
Free to whoever wants one. Naughty children will receive two. There are about 9 or 12 or there could be 14. Plus some new kittens we haven’t found yet.
A few of the regulars are:
Kevin - he's the King of the Cats. Charming but a bit of a womanizer
Greycie (also answers to "Chicken") - Sweet little grey kitty. Purrs incessantly, lives inside during the day and outside at night so she can "hunt." Likes pina-coladas and getting caught in the rain. Has recently moved to Clarke University. We miss her!
Callie - our only calico on the farm, loves affection
Other cats - garden variety - there are a few of those. All ferral except when it comes to feeding time. Maybe you can tame them while you're here!
Dogs -
Mabel - basset hound
*Also referred to as: Mabel-mander, Maber-gator, Mabes, Mabelline, Mabel Rae
Mabel chews most things within reach, she's basically a food addict. She is dramatic, pounces, flops about, is easily distracted, has feet that are bigger than necessary and smells like popcorn. She is an absolute delight to have at the farm!
Carl Wayne - Great Pyranese/Anatolian Shepherd
He's a failure as a guard dog but makes big wins with the ladies. Big, furry fella that leads most of the barn tours out here.
Our motto is “the best place to be is together” which applies to all who visit.
